O fluxo che unisce não se attraversa, 2026
On November 2, 2023, a flood of the Senio destroyed one of Palazzuolo’s bridges. Lara Dâmaso’s project begins from that rupture and reflects on the desire to stay connected. The works draw on a historical quality of the place, shaped by the passage of different cultures and the coexistence of multiple identities. Two ceramic sculptures are placed on opposite banks of the river, in sheltered locations that invite bodily proximity. Their forms echo the layout of the village streets, turning paths into sound channels. The sculptures function as two parts of a single composition, split by the river flowing between them. The composition weaves together the artist’s voice and sounds gathered locally. Made in Portugal, the works introduce another ceramic presence into a place marked by exchanges between Tuscany and Romagna. Near the collapsed bridge, a sign holds the project’s poetic core, suspended between the flood and the news of its reconstruction.

“ On 2 November 2023, a flood of the Senio destroyed this small bridge.
A broken bridge is a separation. The separation of what was forced into unisson. Out or purpose, our own way, over the already existing bond. Sometimes imperceptible, always flowing.
A broken bridge invites us to stand still, to listen. To reflect on our relation to relationships. O fluxo che unisce não se attraversa.
In Palazzuolo - in between regions, bound by the river and defined by movement and passage - the streets are instruments amplifying the seemingly imperceptible sound of motion, carried and echoing along other shores of the same river. “

Through the Looking Glass (Bare, Burned, Multiplied), 2026
“When I see the sun entering through a window of my apartment, I often align with its rays and initiate a dance with the shadow it projects on the wall, with this other, immaterial and fleeting me. Sometimes I place a camera somewhere between my body and its projection to record it before the image fades away as the sun continues its trajectory. Reflection, too, has a strong effect on me. The image I see in the mirror quickly becomes more present than the actual one that is reflected on it. The image of myself is always an other, and I look for a relation with this other.”
